Business Spotlight: Peoples Bank

Small businesses and the people who own and work in them are the heart of our Edmonds community. To keep our downtown thriving, it’s more critical than ever that we think local first.

In this new series, we will be highlighting independently-owned businesses, and learn more about the folks that make them run!

Meet Vern Woods from Peoples Bank.

What is your favorite part of your business?
Providing clients with solutions and products to meet their business and personal banking needs.

Why did you start your business?
To provide a warm and friendly community bank feel to our downtown and surrounding community. There’s no shortage of banks in Edmonds, so warm and friendly seemed like a great place to start.

Why did you choose Edmonds for your business?
The business community along with the people who live and work here.

What is unique about your business?
Our higher level of service, we want to know your story and be a part of it. We want you to tell everyone you know about your experience at Peoples Bank.

Why should people do business with you?
We will continue to take care of you and your business long after your account has been opened.

What are you currently doing differently during this time?
As an essential business we remained available through in person appointments, electronic banking, night drop and virtual meetings. We reopened our lobby to walk-in business on 9/23/2020. Masks required with social distancing.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
I’ve been working in banking in the Edmonds Community for 25 years and I feel like I’m just getting started.

Is there anything else you’d like to tell us about your business?
Peoples Bank is a third generation family owned bank operating in the State of Washington for almost 100 years.
