More Summer Lovin’ Downtown Edmonds

Summer is in full swing, and we hope you’ve been loving it. We sure have! Between the Summer Market, finding Waldo, free music all over the city, outdoor movies, and more, this has already been a season for the books. And it feels like we’re just getting started!

As promised, this article provides more detail about two upcoming events (on the same weekend, no less!) as well as a rundown of alllll the things we have to look forward to. It’ll help you keep the Lovin’ Summer momentum going until that last 9pm sunset has come and gone.

So, without much further ado, let’s start mapping out the rest of our jam-packed summer schedule, shall we?

Have you noticed the Lovin’ Summer signs in your favorite Downtown Edmonds shops and businesses? Have you asked for one of the free stickers they have on hand? If not, there’s no time like the present! Don’t forget to look for the flags, too! Those went up right after the 4th of July.

Show us where you’re collecting your stickers and spotting flags by tagging us on social media (@edmondsdowntown). Make sure you show off any background business logos to give your go-to Downtown Edmonds shops some extra love, too. We won’t resist an opportunity to re-share!

Let’s talk a little more about what have become two family-friendly, free, and foundational summer events: PorchFest and The Edmonds Classic Car & Motorcycle Show.

Musicians play on the sidewalk during PorchFest EdmondsThe 3rd Annual Edmonds PorchFest

Returning for its third year Downtown Edmonds, PorchFest is adding more performances and more porches to its already robust mix. On Saturday, September 7th, expect to roam the blocks (on a concentrated mission, of course. Here’s your map) to hear musicians, spoken word performers, and more show off their talent. Whether you’re bringing your grandma, your grandkids, your dog, or your dad, there is something for everyone at this beloved community celebration.

It’s also worth noting that PorchFest is a completely volunteer-run day. If you want to keep it going, consider donating. All contributions—monetary or otherwise—help Downtown Edmonds thrive.

The Edmonds annual Classic Car & Motorcycle Show, a two-decade-plus summer mainstay, is again expected to attract 8,000+ spectators to ogle at 250+ classic two and four-wheeled vehicles.

The show runs from 11am-5pm on Sunday, September 8th. Call all your car-loving friends, uncles, and long-lost classic-appreciating cousins. We’re expecting a record-breaking turnout. And make sure you visit one of our downtown restaurants while you’re out. Walking and ogling can really take it out of you!
