Your Downtown Edmonds Early Spring Itinerary
After what feels like an eternity of gray skies and several bone-chilling days, Edmonds is finally breaking free from winter’s grip (who cares what Punxsutawney predicted? Not us!). The cherry blossoms are getting pink and fluffy, and the tulips are breaking through. Spring is imminent. Hurrah!
And you know what that means, right?
It’s time to shake off the hibernation dust and get out into Downtown Edmonds. Whether you’re exploring on a sunny Saturday or dodging raindrops on a drizzly Thursday evening, we’ve mapped out the perfect early spring day (or two) to make the most of our seaside blocks.
Coffee first? Obviously. Grab your favorite brew from Walnut Street Coffee, Stillhouse, or The Red Twig, and let’s get moving.
If You’re Out on a Saturday: Downtown Shopping
The Cabin Fever Market runs on Saturdays, March 28th and April 25th. Write these dates down because they give you two perfect opportunities to shop local vendors, score special eats, and support the makers and creators who make Edmonds special. It’s the ideal kickoff to a Downtown day—arrive early, browse the booths, and let the energy of the market guide your next move.
If it were us, we’d wander over to the just-opened Common Formme to explore their curated collection of antiques, vintage rugs, European vessels, and home objects chosen for craftsmanship and story. Owner Emily Ellstrom has created a space where design, wellness, and intention come together, which is very Edmonds. Hunt for a meaningful piece, browse for inspiration, and leave feeling more connected to your own space.
Continue your treasure hunt at The Curious Nest, home to French antiques, found objects, and one-of-a-kind artwork from local artisans. With over twenty local artists in the shop (including co-owner Andrea Savar’s creations), this space is all about items that pique curiosity and delight the senses. You never know what you’ll discover tucked into a corner, so make sure to linger.
Need a breather? Post up on the patio at Leftcraft for some high-quality people-watching. Their scratch-made food and rotating local beers on tap pair perfectly with a sunny afternoon (or a covered, heated table if the weather’s feeling moody). This is the spot to kick back, soak up the Downtown buzz, and plan your next move.
If you’re still in shopping mode, swing by Driftwood Modern for mid-century furniture and home goods that’ll make you want to redecorate immediately. Then head to Musicology Co to sift through their used and new vinyl, CDs, and cassettes—especially if it’s raining. Live music happens every weekend here, and there’s a whole section dedicated to local artists. It’s cozy, it’s nostalgic, and it’s the perfect rainy-day refuge.
If You’re Out on a Thursday Evening: Art Walk
Every third Thursday from 5-8pm, Downtown Edmonds lights up for Art Walk. With about a dozen galleries scattered around downtown—including newcomer Hoadley Gallery West, Sunlight Gallery + Studio, MaJe Gallery, Gallery North, Cole Gallery, Young Gallery—you can spend the entire evening hopping from one creative space to another. Each gallery showcases different artists and mediums, so there’s always something new to discover.
After you’ve gotten your fill of art (or between galleries), grab drinks at The ChurchKey Pub, a small American alehouse with a European feel. Their lineup of local, American, and imported ales changes constantly, and their seasonal craft cocktails and small plates make it easy to settle in for a bit. Make sure you order the pretzel (sweet or savory) and thank us later!
Or head to Kelnero, where Edmonds natives Kali and Kris Kelnero have elevated the cocktail scene in their hometown (we love that for us, don’t we?). Handmade live-edge wood tables, live piano music, a large deck, and sneaky side rooms provide the perfect backdrop for your evening. Choose from creative house cocktails, classics, or non-alcoholic treats.
If you’re feeling the vintage vibes, pop down to Bar Americano in the south end of Downtown Edmonds for a rotating selection of cocktails, beer, wine, and snacks. Their patio is perfect for indoor/outdoor drinks, and they often host DJ nights and themed parties.
The Perfect Ending (Any Day, Any Time)
No matter when you visit, end your Downtown adventure with a scoop from Molly Moon’s. Freshly baked waffle cones, gobs of deep, dark hot fudge, and generous scoops of rich ice cream are the perfect addition to a stroll around Downtown. Located on Main Street about a block from the Edmonds Fountain, this cute little shop is Molly Moon’s 10th location and such a sweet way to cap off your day.
Bonus Stop: Planning Your Summer Travel?
If you have time (and wanderlust), swing by the Rick Steves’ Europe Travel Center. Settle into their travelers’ library, browse America’s best-selling series of travel guidebooks, and gear up for a smooth and affordable European adventure. Not sure where to begin? They offer guided tours and light-packing luggage that’ll make your next trip a total breeze.
